Wanted: five of six wins

Ten Times Wanted looks to continue his hot streak at Pompano Park Harness Track Wednesday as the 3-year-old Florida-bred gelding goes for his second straight win and fifth victory in his last six starts.

Starting from post two in the 10th race $4,000 pace, Ten Times Wanted hails from the Bruce Ranger Stable and has five wins for owner James Steffen of Perry, Ga. Last week was the son of Ditch Em’s best effort yet, coming from off the pace in fifth place at the three-quarter mile mark, taking the lead by the top of the stretch and then holding on at the wire to win by a neck in a lifetime best 1:55.4 mile for driver Ranger.

Ten Times Wanted is the 7-5 morning-line favorite.

But it won’t be a walk in the park for Ten Times Wanted this week. He faces a stellar field that includes return winner Lislea Galterio from post four. The 3-1 second choice in the race for driver Daryl Bier was able to wire the field last week in a lifetime-best 1:56.2 for his second win this year

Also in the race is Survive This, a newcomer from Indiana Downs, who last week was a game second-place finisher. He starts from post three for driver Richard Macomber. Badlands Brownie in post six won his race last week in 1:56.2 but was placed third for causing interference during the mile.

Completing the field are VC Scooter (post one), Class Action Scoot (post five) and Jolly Good Fella (post seven). (Pompano Park)
