The Woodbine Entertainment Group, which operates Woodbine and Mohawk racetracks, is indefinitely refusing all entries of horses that were trained by either Bill Elliott or Evzen Pindur, who were recently suspended by the Ontario Racing Commission following positive tests for blood-doping.
On April 29, the Ontario Racing Commission announced the immediate suspensions of trainers William Elliott and Evzen Pindur after blood samples from a horse in each of their stables tested positive for the drug darbepoetin-alfa (DPO), a potent long-lasting form of Erythropeietin (EPO). The ORC suspended . Pindur for 10 years and ordered a $40,000 fine. The ORC is continuing its investigation into Elliott. (WEG)
