WEG's Saturday Pick-4

Woodbine Racetrack presents a $40,000 guaranteed pool for its early Pick-4 on Saturday evening, and WEG’s commentator, Chris Hickey, has scanned through Races 4 through 7 to come up with a
plan of attack for constructing a ticket.

Race 4 1, 2

#1 Meadowview Matty- He was a decent third when getting back to racing
last time out after missing a week due to weather. He’s always a threat
at this level but needs a trip to get it done. With the inside starting
position he may work out a trip like he did 12/2.

#2 Digital Image – Gets some class relief tonight after nearly getting
it done last week from post 10 at a big price. He won’t be 35-1 tonight
but you can’t overlook him at this level.

Race 5 4, 8

#4 Ideal Gift – Closed from way back in his debut on this circuit for
Zeron. Stays at the same class and gets a better starting spot tonight.
He should offer a price given the fact that he hasn’t raced since
12/18.

#8 Hyperion Hanover – Was handled aggressively in his latest when he
faced tougher. His last win came at this class back in early December
and we should see him on the lead early given his early speed. The one
to beat.

Race 6 3, 4, 8

#3 Flem N Em N – Gets a little class relief tonight after taking an
inside trip in his latest. He was no match for the winner of that most
recent but found room late and just missed the runner up spot. If he
gets room earlier tonight, watch out.

#4 Panmunjom – He was unable to hold off veteran Our Lucky Killean in
his last when taking the lead just passed the half. He’s much better
than his 3 for 35 record of last year would suggest. Look for him to be
close again early but might have more weapons late facing slightly
easier company tonight.

#8 Royal Morn – Second best when moving up in company last time out.
Post 8 makes things a little tougher tonight but his current form
suggests he can overcome that starting spot. He went a big opening half
last time out so look for him to have something left in the tank for the
stretch tonight.

Race 7 1, 7, 8

#1 Serious Shark – Broke before the start last time which eliminated any
chance. He’ll obviously have to be on better behaviour tonight but if
he is he should have a shot given the inside start.

#7 Shipps Expectancy – He had a tough trip last time when dropping to
this level. He was scorched early to get position than had to go first
over before fading late. He should get a better trip tonight but given
his record last year that may not be enough to get him to the winners
circle.

#8 Amazon Art – Tough to leave him off the ticket given his closing
effort at Georgian in his most recent. The downside is that prior to
that start he wasn’t competitive at this level. I’ll take the chance
that his confidence is high after the last start and put him on the
