WEG to appeal Ontario commission ruling

The Woodbine Entertainment Group (WEG) has announced that it will appeal the Ontario Racing Commission (ORC) ruling relating to the suspension of horses in trainer Bill Elliott's care. After Elliott had a positive test for a blood-doping agent, WEG announced that it would not take entries of any horses which had been in his care.
 
In a press release, WEG said its grounds for judicial review include both legal reasons and the terms in which the ruling was expressed. WEG will ask the courts to "review all decisions in the future which undermine WEG's duty to protect the public from fraudulent racing."
