Welu’s Dreamboat visited the winner’s circle for the second straight time after taking the featured $10,000 Isle Mile I Pace at Starting from post two in the evening’s opening event, driver Anthony Napolitano allowed Welu’s Dreamboat to settle along the pylons in fourth place as Bronson Hall (Tom Harmer) rocketed off the gate to take the lead, showing the way through opening fractions of :27.4 and :56.2. As the pacers made their way down the backstretch, Welu’s Dreamboat was tipped to the outside to begin a first over charge. The son of Camluck quickly drew within striking distance of Bronson Hall, who reached the three-quarters marker in Bronson Hall entered the lane with a half-length advantage, but that margin was quickly eradicated as Welu’s Dreamboat took control of the race in mid-stretch, opening up a two-length lead before holding off a late charge by Owned by the Maddy J Racing Stable of Wellington, Fla., and trained by Jacques Dupuis, Welu’s Dreamboat has won two of 11 starts this year, with seasonal earnings of $20,755.
