A new racing schedule and a 10 per cent purse increase will greet horse people and patrons as Western Fair Raceway kicks off its Spring Meet tonight.
Purses were raised 10 per cent across the board due to an increase of approximately nine per cent in average daily handle during the recently concluded Winter Meet.
For the month of May the London, Ontario track will race on Wednesday and Friday evenings, with a 7:05 p.m. post time. Starting next week every race night will feature stakes action culminating with the track’s signature event, the Molson Pace, on Friday, May 28.
