Western Shore Jug favorite

Despite finishing fifth in both his elimination and final of Saturday’s Hoosier Cup, Western Shore is a heavy favorite in the first of four future wagering pools for the 2006 Little Brown Jug. Western Shore is 2-1 while Hoosier Park and North America Cup winner Total Truth is 10-1 following four days of wagering.

The “Field” was second in the early betting, standing at odds of 9-1. The field includes every 3-year-old pacer in North America. Feelin Friskie, second in the North America Cup final, is 14-1 and reigning 2-year-old champion Jereme’s Jet is 15-1.

Western Shore is owned by Brittany Farms, Ronald Michelon and the Ervin Miller Stable and had won three straight races at Canada’s Woodbine prior to his two fifth-place finishes in the Hoosier Cup.

The second of four Future Jug wagering pools will be the weekend after the Meadowlands Pace (July 20-23). Past performances will be available at all of the regular sites and on line at www.littlebrownjug.com. The entry box closes for the Meadowlands Pace eliminations at 9 a.m., Tuesday, July 4.
