Daughters of Western Terror swept both C$40,000 Ontario Sires Stakes Gold eliminations for 2-year-old filly pacers on Friday night at Mohawk Racetrack. Briar Goes West recovered from a slow start to sweep past all of her rivals in taking the first elimination in 1:54.1. The daughter of Western Terror-Briar Classic just edged out Arts Star with Fashion Week within a half a length in finishing third. Briar Goes West got away ninth and last from post five but managed to come all the way back to win for driver Jack Moiseyev to record her second career victory in starts. Shacked Up ran her career unbeaten streak to three with a sparkling 1:52.4 effort for driver Steve Condren in the second split. The daughter of Western Terror-Sapphire Dawn got away fourth early, came first over on the last turn, and powered away from her rivals with a :27.1 final quarter. It was more than four lengths back to runner-up St Lads Popcorn who edged out Shellace for the show spot. Shacked up is now three-for-three in her brief career for trainer Richard ‘Nifty’ Norman and owners Bulletproof Enterprises of Boca Raton, Florida.
