With his 1:57.2 victory at Monticello Raceway on Thursday afternoon, Mr. Thinker now has nine consecutive victories and is just one shy of the track record of 10 set in 2008 by Hogies Cam and Jordan Stratton.
Zeke Parker again drove Mr. Thinker to another wire-to-wire triumph for owner-trainer Brian O’Neill. The veteran 10-year-old stallion hasn’t tasted defeated since he finished second on April 15. During his win skein then pacer’s fastest clocking has been a 1:56 effort on June 2.
“He’s a game old ‘hoss’ and he loves to race,” Parker said with his Maine accent . “Even though he missed a week ( he didn’t race last week) he still went a good trip. He came the last quarter in :28 and a piece and we won it pretty easy.”
With his triumph Thursday, Mr. Thinker now has 11 seasonal victories which ranks him second—along with four others--in races won thus far this year in North America. In his career the son of Glowing Tribute has won 45 of 147 races and has amassed purses in excess of $278,000.
