White-out conditions force Balmoral cancellation Tuesday

Balmoral Park was forced to cancel its Tuesday night program after just one race due to inclement conditions. After temperatures plummeted more than 30 degrees in less than four hours, a driving rain turned into heavy snow. Coupled with wind gusts of 30 to 40 mph, the blowing snow created white-out conditions. After the first race of the night went in 2:07.1, drivers and trainers then met with Balmoral management and an agreement was made to cancel the 11-race program due to the dangerous conditions.  

 

The Wednesday morning qualifiers are still scheduled for 10:30 a.m (CT). Wednesday night’s regularly scheduled 11-race card will begin at 7:20 p.m. (CT). (Balmoral Park)
