Who's your daddy in the Willowdale?

Return Home
January 20, 2008 | Print View

Daddy Mac positioned himself for a possible sweep of this year's Willowdale Pacing Series for 4 year olds with narrow victory in Saturday night's second round at Woodbine Racetrack for driver Randy Waples.

The gelded son of Camluck-San Francine converted off a two-hole trip to score in 1:52.4 in the first $40,000(C) split and, in the process, snapped Keystone Matt's win streak at three as he held on for the place spot after setting much of the pace. Bettor Tuwin survived a long, parked-out trip to finish third.

Daddy Mac is now two for two to start the season for the red-hot Bob McIntosh Stable. McIntosh co-owns the pacer along with Leda Farms Llc. of Medfield, Ma.

In the second division, Camifications followed cover until the top of the stretch and powered by rivals for a sharp 1:53 victory for driver Rick Zeron. The gelded son of Camluck-Ever And Again held off longshot Lilsharkshooter at the finish with Golden Seven finishing third.

Camifications watched as race favorite Mr. Saratoga and Hot Rod Mindale battled head to head in the third quarter and then swept past to record his first win of the season. Rob Fellows trains the pacer for owners John and Frank Denison, Richard De Joy and John Wagner of Maryland.

The Willowdale Series final will be contested next Saturday night at Woodbine. (WEG)
