With wins in the ninth and 10th races at Widger, 44, won five races on Tuesday at Balmoral—coincidentally with one victory coming behind a horse named Carrie The Idol on the same night the two 2008 American Idol finalists were performing for the last time for votes—and then followed up that night with a three-win performance on Wednesday to reach 3,000. Widger won Wednesday’s fourth race with Lady Three Count and the ninth with Joanies Irish Luck before his milestone win with Shadow Of Lighting.
