The Meadows Racetrack & Casino will host tryouts for the popular television reality show, “The Amazing Race,” from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday.

Couples will be asked to step in front of the camera and tell CBS why they should race around the world for a chance to win $1 million. Show host Phil Keoghan will be at The Meadows signing autographs from 3-5 p.m.

The Meadows, which is owned by Cannery Casino Resorts, was the first to open in southwestern Pennsylvania on April 15. The state-of-the-art casino includes 3,700 slot machines, an electronic table games pit, premier restaurants with spectacular views of the gaming floor and the race track, bowling center, a new racing grandstand, simulcast area, live entertainment and VIP super boxes.

“As a true entertainment destination, The Meadows is proud to welcome “The Amazing Race” to our casino,” said Meadows vice president and general manager Michael Graninger.  “It should be a lot of fun for everyone.”

It also will provide three featured dining venues: a premier steak house, a specialty restaurant overlooking the racetrack and a diverse food court with micro-restaurants.  A centrally located lounge and bar will feature panoramic views of both the gaming floor and the racetrack.

The Meadows is owned by Las Vegas-based Cannery Casino Resorts (CCR). CCR owns two highly regarded resorts in Las Vegas – the Rampart Casino and the Cannery Casino & Hotel. Construction began in March on a second Cannery branded casino in Las Vegas. (The Meadows)
