Windsong Espoir 2,1:55.3 ($763,230), Canada’s Two-Year-Old Trotting Colt of 2007, has been syndicated by Walnut Hall Ltd. and will stand at Westwind Farm in Ontario for a fee of $3,500 (Canadian). The announcement was made by Alan J. Leavitt, president of Walnut Hall Ltd.
Leavitt stated that over his many years in the breeding business, it became clear that the best indicator of a stallion’s real potential as a sire was his performance on the racetrack at two. As a 2 year old, Windsong Espoir won $707,920 and nine straight stakes races by a total of 45 3/4 lengths, and he was the overwhelming choice for the O’Brien Award as Champion Two-Year-Old Trotting Colt.
A son of Kadabra, out of Diamond Image, by Balanced Image, Windsong Espoir is an outcross opportunity for breeders. Shares in Windsong Espoir are still available, and further information about his syndication was available through Steve Katz at 859.254.2776.
