Published reports state Windsor Raceway officials and representatives of the Ontario Harness Horse Association reached an agreement Wednesday with the Ontario Racing Commission that will keep the 2008 racing schedule intact, but cut the purses by 25 percent nightly. In March, Windsor Raceway had asked the commission to drop eight days of racing due to declining slot revenue. Racetrack officials told the commission that because of the lower slot money, the contribution to purses had in turn declined 34 percent since 2005.
