Windsun Lane remained perfect in three starts this season and positioned himself for a possible sweep of this year's Don Mills Trotting Series at Woodbine with another dominant performance in Monday night's second leg at Woodbine. Rick Zeron guided the 4-year-old Lindy Lane gelding to a wrapped-up 1:56.4 victory over a closing Hoopie with Mystical Banker grabbing the show spot.
Zeron also trains and co-owns Windsun Lane along with Springhill Trading Inc. of Ontario.
In Monday's opening $20,000 split, Stonebridge Spirit took over command at the quarter for driver Randy Waples and then cruised to an easy 1:57.2 win over Theshowisfree and En Controle to notch his first win of the campaign.
Bob McIntosh, who trains the son of Angus Hall, also co-owns along with Angie Stiller of Arva, Ontario.
The final division went to Bertorico for driver Paul MacDonell in wire-to-wire fashion in 1:56 as he turned back Snazzy Hot Rod and Northern Mistral. The Lindy Lane gelding finished fifth in round-one of the series and needed a top result tonight for trainer Nick Boyd and owner Susan Hutton of Burlington, Ont., to qualify for next week's final.
The $59,000 Don Mills Final will go next Monday night from Woodbine. (WEG)
