Windsun Lane and Enny Youngman were both victorious in Thursday night's second leg of the General Brock Trotting Series at Woodbine and, in the process, gave themselves a chance at the series sweep in next week's final. Enny Youngman overcame an outside post 10 starting spot in the opening $18,000(C) split and took the early lead before yielding in the second quarter to Bertorico. The gelded son of Enjoy Lavec then followed in the pocket until mid-stretch before tipping out late to win going away in 1:55.2. Bertorico held on for second with Logan AAS getting up for the show spot. The victory was the third in eight tries this season for the Ben Baillargeon trainee. He co-owns along with C Tremblay Holding Inc. of Brossard, Quebec. Enny Youngman returned $6 for the win. In the second division, Windsun Lane sat patiently in third and watched Snazzy Hot Rod put up a solid opening half of :56.3 before Rick Zeron tipped him to the outside just past the half. The gelded son of Lindy Lane appeared stalled in the first over position at three-quarters, but once the field straightened up for home, he hit his best stride and easily overhauled the pacesetter and then held off an onrushing Sauce Two K at the finish in 1:54.3. Windsun Lane, who was an overwhelming $2.70 winner, has now won five of six starts this season for Zeron who trains and co-owns along with Springhill Trading Inc. of Ontario. The General Brock Trotting Series, which is open to 4 year olds, goes next Thursday night at Woodbine. (WEG)
