A $50,000 prep race for the William R. Haughton Memorial and eliminations races for the Sweetheart and Woodrow Wilson, for 2-year-old pacing fillies and colts, respectively, headline the Friday night card at the Meadowlands. The Sweetheart and Wilson elims were originally scheduled for Saturday, but were moved when a football game was scheduled for the new Meadowlands Stadium on Saturday night.
Twelve fillies were entered in the Sweetheart, with the two with the highest seasonal earnings receiving byes: Ace Of Pace and Show And Tell. The first eight finishers in the elim will advance to the final. A total of 13 colts were entered in the Woodrow Wilson, with Roll With Harry, Grams Legacy and Fashion Delight taking byes. Roll With Joe was also offered a bye, but his connections passed, choosing to race in the elimination. The first seven finishers in the Wilson elim will advance to the final.
