Wood back from Ghana

Ken Wood, the popular Dover Downs horseman, has returned from his third trip to Ghana where he personally is continuing a humanitarian project to enable natives to have plentiful water. Last fall, Wood, a longtime horse owner and trainer and driver from Easton, Md., traveled to Ghana with equipment and his know-how to dig wells, enabling the native population to have a water supply.

Wood donated his own well-digging equipment and expertise to the project. Before Wood became involved, local inhabitants had to walk around five miles for a water source, most of which was of inferior drinking quality. In his three excursions, Wood has dug approximately 77 wells already and will return to Ghana in April, to continue his goal of providing 100 wells to the needy people of Ghana. (Dover)
