Woodbine Entertainment Group (WEG) on Tuesday announced it was adding 20-cent triactors to its live fractional betting menu through to the end of the year. Beginning Thursday, Nov. 1, racing fans can wager a minimum of 20 cents on triactors during Woodbine's live Standardbred and Thoroughbred cards.
Racing customers are already able to play 20-cent minimums on superfectas and multi-race "Pick" wagers.
"Horseplayers have responded very well to the 20-cent option on superfectas and the 'Pick' bets," said Greg Martin, WEG's director of wagering operations. "We've seen material increases in average pool sizes and prices.
"Starting Thursday, we`ll offer 20-cent triactors for a trial period until Dec. 31. If fans enjoy them, we'll make it a permanent betting choice."
A triactor, which asks fans to pick the top three finishers in a race, is one of the more popular bets in the sport.
Fractional betting allows bettors to play the races in pre-determined fractional amounts lower than the traditional $1 or $2 wagers. (WEG)
