The Harness Horse Youth Foundation has accepted an invitation from the World Equestrian Games’ Equine Village division to participate September 25 – 28, 2010.  The experience will be sponsored by Kentuckiana Farms Stallion Management and the U.S. Trotting Association.

Four former graduates of HHYF programs have been selected to represent both the organization and harness racing.  They are Phil Antonacci, Somersville, CT;  Mollie Fenwick, Tunkhannock, PA; Olivia Kimelman, Wallkill, NY; and Carter Pinske, Plato, MN.  These young ambassadors will be involved in daily presentations in the main arena and with smaller hands-on group activities in the Kids Zone.

“The World Equestrian Games offers an entirely new market of exposure for both HHYF and the industry” explained Ken Jackson from Kentuckiana Farms.  “With the uniqueness of HHYF’s educational efforts, we hope that participation in this event can capture the attention of horse lovers from all over the world.”

The HHYF committee of trustees has been very active in planning and coordinating details for the September activity. The young people on the HHYF team will be meeting over the summer to coordinate and polish their presentation skills, with one confirmed “dress rehearsal” planned for Indiana Downs on September 4, 2010.

HHYF President Callie Davies-Gooch recognizes the significance of this effort.

“This is the first time the World Equestrian Games is being held in the US.  For HHYF to be a part of the festivities is exciting and a huge honor,” she stated. “I am confident our young people will do an outstanding job of representing the racing industry.” (HHYF)
