Two $66,850 divisions of the Countess Adios for 2-year-old filly pacers were contested on Wednesday night at the Meadowlands, with Worldly Treasure, a sister to world champion Worldy Beauty, winning the first split, and Valmctorian taking the second.
Worldly Treasure captured the first division in 1:53.1 for driver George Brennan and trainer Jeff Stafford. The daughter of Artsplace is a homebred owned by White Birch Farm of Allentown, N.J.
The Ray Remmen Stable’s Valmctorian split horses in the stretch to win the second Countess Adios division in 1:53.3. Driven by Cat Manzi, Valmctorian scored her second win in three career starts. From the first crop of McArdle, Valmctorian was an $18,000 yearling purchase at the Harrisburg Sale by John Lichtenberger of North Bergen, N.J., Saverio Spagnolo of Potsdam, N.Y., and James Chambers of Annapolis, Md.
