Kinetic Yankee was the fastest of three New Jersey Sire Stakes (NJSS) winners in second-leg action for 3-year-old colt pacers at the Meadowlands Saturday night. Driven by Mike Lachance, Kinetic Yankee led wire to wire to win in 1:51.1, besting runner-up Art At Heart by 7 1/2 lengths, with Mr. Market third. TJ's Ideal had finished 5 1/2 lengths back in second but was disqualified to sixth for causing interference.
A son of Western Ideal, Kinetic Yankee is trained by Erv Miller for owners Brittany Farms, Fred Mansoor, Martha Frank and John Fodera.
Twinscape and Richard Silverman missed speed-badge honors by just three-fifths of a second as the gelded son of Artiscape scored a 1:51.4 victory in the second NJSS split. Poker Hat finished second with No Perfect Escape third.
Peter Thomas trains the winner, who broke his maiden in his 14th career start and 11th attempt this year. Twinscape is owned by Paper Box Stable.
The opening division went to Tiber Hanover, who nosed out St. Pete Star at the wire in 1:52. Nic Nac Hanover was third.
Ross Wolfenden got the call from trainer Brett Bittle behind Tiber Hanover, a gelded son of Cam's Card Shark. The time was a career best for Tiber Hanover, who is owned by Lon Frocione.
