Yannick Gingras, who never needed a map to find his way around Yonkers Raceway, returned to town Monday night and proceeded to take the fifth on the fifth as he won five races from just eight drives on the wind-driven, dozen-race card.

Gingras began his winner's-circle road trips with the 3-year-old trotting colt Mr. Lebo ($3.30) in the $6,500 second race, getting the mile in 2:02. Gingras then authored an 14-1 upset in the $5,000, third-race pace with the soph filly So Tuffian ($31.40), who prevailed in 2:03.3.

Gingras' third victory came behind favored Kiwi Cam ($4.60) in the $15,000, eighth-race pace (1:58.2), then found paydirt for the fourth time with Your Best Bet ($7.90) in the $20,000, 10th-race pace, traversing the eight furlongs in 1:58.1. He completed his personal quintet with the 8-1 Southwind Irvin ($19.20) in the $18,000 pacing finale, which went in 1:58.4.

The 27-year-old Gingras began the week with 117 dash wins, good for seventh in the North American standings, while his $1.3 million in earnings rank fifth. He comes off by far a personal-best season of more than $7.1 million in purses in 2006. Included in that figure was a win here behind standout 3-year-old filly Darlin's Delight in the $291,456 Lady Maud in late November.

The night's $25,000, co-featured claming handicap ($50-$60,000) paces were won by Notthatkindaangel (1:56.3) for Catello Manzi ($4.70) and Ithinki'msomebody (1:57), driven by Jim Meittinis at a $24.40 mutuel. (Yonkers)
