Year In Review trotted to a 2:00.3 victory in the fastest $26,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes (NJSS) split for 2-year-old colt trotters Wednesday afternoon at Freehold Raceway.

Driven by Stephen Smith, the colt by Self Possessed sat second over and sped by pacesetter Sweet Daddy Siki and Manfinity, who was parked most of the mile.

Year In Review, a $13,000 yearling, is out of the Royal Prestige mare Royal Review. He is a half brother to $100,000 winners Banker’s Audit and Rainbow Review.

Karen Garland trains Year In Review for owner George Bullukian.

Bamboo Yankee showed why he was the 1-9 favorite as he trotted easily to a 2:03.1 score in the other NJSS division for 2-year-old colt trotters.

Driven by Ray Schnittker for trainer Paul Doherty, Bamboo Yankee won for the second time this year after finishing third in the Peter Haughton Memorial.

Bamboo Yankee is by Self Possessed out of Bashful Yankee, by Yankee Glide. The gelding was a $40,000 yearling purchase for co-owners Schnittker, Frank Baldassare and Charles Iannazzo.

In a $10,000 NJSS Green Acres division for 2-year-old filly trotters, Victoria Volo won in 2:03.4, again for the Smith-Garland combo.

An $8,000 yearling by Dream Vacation, Victoria Volo is also owned by Smith.

Stop The Whining won the other Green Acres division in 2:07.2 in a four-horse blanket finish. Jim Pantaleano drove the Malabar Man filly for trainer Noel Dailey and owner Doc’s Farm Inc.
