Year In Review, the even-money favorite, rolled to an easy victory in the $45,000 New Jersey Futurity for 3-year-old trotters on Thursday afternoon at Freehold Raceway, with the Self Possessed colt, driven by Steve Smith and trained by Karen Garland, claiming the lead before the three-quarter pole and drawing away to a 4 1/4-length victory in 1:59.4 on a track rated "sloppy." Gladhand, a gelded son of Yankee Glide, was second. It was six lengths back to Armbro Elgin, the Self Possessed colt who set the early pace and hung on for third. Year In Review picked up his second win of the year and improved his record to 13 of 16 in-the-money finishes, banking $131,485 for 2007 and $209,087 lifetime. The trotter now has six wins, eight seconds and eight thirds from 25 starts for his career. He currently races in the name of Ole Bach Nielsen of East Windsor, N.J. The New Jersey Futurity is sponsored by the Standardbred Breeders and Owners Association of New Jersey. (SBOANJ)
