Yonkers Raceway, in conjunction with the New York Sire Stakes, has announced a $400,000 evening on Saturday, Oct. 17, featuring eight $50,000 events for New York-bred 2 and 3 year olds of both sexes and gaits.
The events are open to those horses who did not race--or were not eligible--to the Sept. 26 Night of Champions. Each class is to be filled with remaining eligibles from the 2009 New York Sire Stakes point standings, with horses eligible in descending point order. Eligibles shall be determined by the New York Sire Stakes.
Each race would be limited to eight starters, with no more than two entries from one owner or trainer. Races are to conducted under rules of the New York State Racing and Wagering Board, the New York Sire Stakes and Yonkers Raceway. Please note there is no nominating fee, no starting fee and a $10 entry fee--payee Yonkers Raceway--per horse. Entry for this event is scheduled to close Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 4 p.m. Eastern.
