Yonkers schedule set

Yonkers Raceway's conditional license granted Friday by the New York State Racing and Wagering Board is contingent pending a walk-through next Tuesday by the state fire marshall and the Office of General Services. Tne track plans to re-open for both live racing and simulcasting Friday, Nov. 17, with the entry box closing Tuesday, Nov. 14, at 4 p.m. (ET).

If there are not enough entries for that Friday program, then the re-opening will be pushed back to Saturday, Nov. 18, with that card scheduled to include eliminations for the Yonkers Trot and Messenger Stakes, as well as the split-stake Lady Maud Pace and Hudson Filly Trot. That entry box is slated to close Wednesday, Nov. 15, at 10 a.m. (ET).

Condition sheets for the first week of racing is expected to be made available by the Yonkers' race office.

“We have anxiously anticipated the return of racing for quite some time,” general manager Bob Galterio said in a press release. “We’d like to thank our horsemen and fans for their patience and understanding, as well as the Racing and Wagering Board for their cooperation.”

Yonkers Raceway has requested a five-program-per-week (Friday through Tuesday) live harness schedule, with first post Friday, Saturday, Monday and Tuesday at 7:40 p.m. Sunday’s first post is 5 p.m.
