January 24, 2013 | Print View

The Standardbred Owners Association  (SOA of NY) wishes to remind all horsemen that the Petticoat Pacing Series for 3- and 4-year-old fillies and mares gets underway at the Hilltop oval commencing Monday, March 11. The Petticoat Series goes three consecutive Monday nights with a consolation and final on Monday, April 1. The Sagamore Hill Pacing Series for 3- and 4-year-old colts, geldings and horses, gets underway on Tuesday, March 12. The Sagamore also ends with both a consolation and final on Tuesday, April 2. Legs for both the Petticoat and the Sagamore Hill are guaranteed at $12,500 regardless of the number of divisions, with consolations similarly guaranteed at $25,000 and a final at $50,000 (A).

The Blue Chip Matchmaker Series draws the best of the open-class mares to the oval on Friday, March 22, and features five $40,000 legs and multiple divisions guaranteed on consecutive Fridays. Named for the largest Standardbred nursery in New York State, it carries a consolation valued at $75,000 guaranteed and Final at $125,000(A) on Saturday, April 27.

The father of nighttime harness racing is honored once again as Yonkers memorializes George Morton Levy in the pacing series bearing his name. The series consistently draws some of the greatest aged horses around. This perennial race has been rewarding aged pacers with good money for many years. Yonkers has the best way to keep good aged horses around offer them good money to race for. Like the other Yonkers' series, The Levy has multiple divisions within its legs. Commencing on Saturday, March 23rd. Levy legs consist of five $50,000 legs with multiple divisions, a Consolation at $100,000 guaranteed and Final at $200,000 (A). Like that for the girls in the Blue Chip Matchmaker, the consolation and final for The Levy will be contested on Saturday, April 27th. If you think your horse fits any of these Series and you have not yet completed an entry form, obtain one at http://www.yonkersraceway.com/ or by calling 914-457-2627. Entries for the Petticoat and the Sagamore Hill close February 1, and for the Blue Chip Matchmaker and the George Moron Levy on March 1. Don't get left out or shut out from the big cash. (SOA)
