Billy “Zeke” Parker, Jr. drove three more winners on the Wednesday, May 5th afternoon 10-race card at Monticello Raceway and raised his career victory total to 9,995 and now needs just five more to reach  the  10,000-win plateau.

When Zeke wins his 10,000th he’ll join just eight others in North America who have also reach that coveted milestone.

Parker’s first Wednesday win came in race four when he guided  Jim Ray’s pacer Yoee Excels A to a  2:00 score. He  then won the  fifth race with Brian O’Neill’s, Mr. Thinker, in a time of 1:57:4 which was the third consecutive victory for the 10-year-old Glowing Tribute stallion and the pacer’s fifth win in his last six starts.

Parker’s final win on the card came in the ninth race was behind Ken Weckstein’s trotter, Buck ID I a 2:00:4 clocking.

“I should have won four today, but (trotter) Heidi Falls(the favorite in the sixth race)  made a break going to the three quarters and we lost  a lot of ground and still finished third. I’m sure we would’a won that one if he stayed trotting ,” Parker said. “But don’t get me wrong, I’m still thrilled with three wins and  with any luck I should get to 10,000 next week sometime.” (Monticello)
