$100,000 Delaware final on Tuesday

Political Foe, Go Byem and Egosnattitudes and Go Byem, winners of the most impressive $20,000 Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) male trot preliminaries, head an eight-horse field vying in the $100,000 final on Tuesday, April 7. A $20,000-$25,000 claiming pace heads the regular card at Dover Downs. Post time is 4:30 p.m.

 

Political Foe scored two victories with Eddie Dennis driving, in his prelims and will start from the rail. Go Byem, winner in his first official start, broke stride at the start last week and rallied to finish a strong second with trainer-driver Les Givens piloting for Delbert Cain and Nanticoke Racing. Another winner last time, Egosnattitudes, owned by trainer Bib Roberts, breeder Graham Grace and M&W stables and handled by Jonathan Roberts, is the defending DSBF Dover $100,000 champion from last November.

 

Trainer Bob Shahan has two entries. Along with George Brem, he has Save The Night, a two-time second-place finisher with George Dennis driving, and Don Marine and Shahan's also start the fast Political Cash with Allan Davis. Tom O. Lail's homebred Audie Mo finished third with Corey Callahan in both his maiden start and regained his gait after a misstep early last week to again take a third. Tony Morgan will drive Ed Kimmel and Don and David West's Perfect Vangogh. Winbak farms' Win Power finished third last Tuesday for Jeff Fout.

 

The Wednesday program features the top eight finishers from two DSBF preliminary legs led by Totally Rusty, Purrfect Bags and Spin Vision in the $100,000 Final for three-year-old filly pacers.

 

Today, tomorrow and Thursday racing starts at 4:30 p.m. The 2014-2015 meet comes to a close April 9. Simulcasting of harness and thoroughbred racing is available daily from 12 Noon until 12 Midnight.  (Dover)
