The time of 1:55.2 was what it took to win either the Elegantimage or Goodtimes consolations for 3-year-old trotters on Friday night at Mohawk. Fortunes Dream won the Elegantimage consolation for fillies in 1:55.2 and then Windsong Geant repeated that clocking to take the stakes for colts.
Fortunes Dream, a daughter of Cantab Hall bred by French horseman Jeann-Pierre Dubois, won by three lengths after enjoying a two-hole trip. Jody Jamieson drove the filly, the 3-5 favorite in this race, to her third score in six starts for Swedish horsewoman Annette Lorentzon, who trains the filly for her family's ACL Stuteri. The time was also a lifetime best.
Celebrity Spirit was second while Oaklea Samantha, the first also eligible in the Elegantimage final, took third.
The $50,000 Goodtimes consolation went to Windsong Geant who took the lead, then yielded to the Lorentzon trained and owned Sailaway Dream before battling to a one-half length victory over Grumpy Jake. Sailaway Dream held for third.
Windsong Geant is a gelded son of Kadabra owned by the Brabant Stable and Fred Brayford. Shawn Robinson trains the winner while Steve Condren handled hte driving. The winner made just three starts last year at age two, but has now won three of six this season, and with the 1:55.2 consolation score, a new lifetime mark.
