16 to go in Prix de France

Sixteen trotters have been entered for the Prix de France, which will be raced Sunday at Hippodrome Paris-Vincennes. The “sprinter” race of the three giant trotting races held during the winter meet, the contest covers 2,100 meters (about 1 ¼ miles).

Included in the field is the great Jean Pierre Dubois-mare Mara Bourbon (And Arifant-Etta Extra by Workaholic), who will be retired after this start and sent to Kentucky to be bred to the Dubois-owned stallion Daguet Rapide (Pine Chip).

The nine trotters with the highest lifetime earnings are guaranteed a post in the first tier behind the car:

Jag de Bellouet; Kesaco Phedo; Mara Bourbon; Conny Nobell; Naglo Lady d´Auvrecy; Java Darche; Kool du Caux; Ludo de Castelle; Nobilis Jiel; Opal Viking; Niky; Lhassa; Nijinski Blue; Laura d´Amour; and The Big Blue World
