Audition, a 2-year-old colt by Valley Victor, easily stole the trotting show in Kentucky Sire Stakes action at The Red Mile Thursday night. With Dave Magee driving, Audition had to work to get command of the race after starting from post five, but won by 4 1/2 lengths.
Audition was parked to the half in :57.4, but then pulled away from his foes in the homestretch to win in 1:57.2 thanks to a :28.2 last quarter.
Robert Taylor trains Audition and shares ownership of the colt with Taylor and Robert Rietveld and Kevin Dixon.
A daughter of Valley Victor was also the fastest of the three filly division winners. Valley Of Dreams scored by 2 1/4 lengths in 1:59. Brad Kramerr drove the filly for Kentucky horseman Jack Gray Jr.
