Pandrogynous, benefiting from a third-over trip, rallied for a 1 1/2-length victory over Real Mean Art in the $22,500 opening round of the Suslow Series, on Friday night at the Meadowlands. Bono Bests, the 8-5 favorite, held on for third.

Sent off at odds of 41-1, Pandrogynous posted his fourth win in 11 lifetime starts, first victory in his third start this year.

The victory was one of a trio for driver John Campbell in the first five races. Campbell, who celebrates his 51st birthday on Saturday, also won with Townline Lily and Easton Alliance.

The Peter Pan Stables homebred, trained by Chris Marino, paced the mile in 1:50.4, a lifetime best. The winner is a 3-year-old son of Noble Ability-Out in The Opan with career earnings of $73,562.

The three-week Suslow continues next week with a final worth $72,700 on April 21.
