Brandon Parker won four of the nine races on the Thursday afternoon card at Monticello Raceway, while his father, Billy “Zeke” Parker, had a training triple.

The first trip to the winner’s circle for Brandon Parker came with Bettoriffic, who scored a two-length win after sitting the pocket behind pacesetter Urbana Bayama (Bruce Aldrich Jr.) in 2:01.2. The 11-year-old son of Bettor’s Delight, who returned $3 for a $2 win ticket, notched his first seasonal win while making his first start in the Zeke Parker barn.

Brandon Parker also won with the 14-year-old Dirty Devil, who looked like a youngster after his 10-length romp in 1:59.2 as the 3-5 favorite for leading trainer Bo Sowers. Parker also scored with American Champ, who won a in a tight photo over Histoire Eternelle (Michael Merton) in 2:00.4 ($4.60). The win gave the elder Parker a training triple on the afternoon.

The four wins on the card has Brandon Parker now in second place for leading dash-winning drivers. Leading the pack is Bruce Aldrich Jr with 48 wins.

The two training wins on the card increased Sower’s tally to 26 wins, a commanding lead over James Doherty Jr. in second with 18 wins. (Monticello)
