Allamerican Theory has been scratched out of Saturday night's (Oct. 18) Messenger Stakes final at The Meadows by trainer Des Tackoor. Tackoor said he was preparing to ship the 3-year-old colt pacer to Pittsburgh from his Ontario farm Friday morning when he noticed "something not right with a foot."

Tackoor said that he believes Allamerican Theory's problem is likely a pus pocket and that, "There was no point in going with him if he wasn't going to be 100 percent. It's too bad because I thought we were really ready to ramble with him."

The winner of the Meadowlands Pace, Allamerican Theory came up sick following a fourth-place finish in his Tattersalls division at The Red Mile Oct. 4. He finished second in his Messenger elim Oct. 11, beaten a head as the betting favorite by Iced Yankee. He had drawn the seven post in the eight-horse Messenger final field, one slot inside Triple Crown hopeful No Pan Intended. Tackoor said he is hopeful Allamerican Theory will be ready to race in time for the Breeders Crown at the Meadowlands late next month.
