Action-Broadway unleashed her customary backside brush and, with a little urging from Dave Palone late, converted it to victory in Wednesday’s $22,500 Filly & Mare Preferred Handicap Trot at The Meadows.
Action-Broadway moved from fifth and caught the leader, Careless Love, at the three-quarters. When Careless Love dug in, Palone tapped Action-Broadway several times; the 4-year-old daughter of Broadway Hall-Photo With Molly responded ably, prevailing in 1:56.3. RT Sun Poco rallied to nip the game Careless Love for place.

Virgil Morgan, Jr. trains Action-Broadway, who now boasts $387,435 in lifetime earnings, for Ken Sommer. In her last four starts, Action-Broadway has three wins and a 1-length loss to Bettis, harness racing’s “Horse of the Month” for February.
Elsewhere on the card, 2005 Hambletonian winner Vivid Photo notched his initial 2011 win, scoring a front-end, 1:58.1 victory for trainer/driver Roger Hammer in a conditioned event. His $7,400 check pushed Vivid Photo’s career bankroll to $3,217,148. (The Meadows)
