Adios, Walner news in new Weekend Preview!
« Return to News
Good news and bad news in the new and free HarnessRacing Weekend Preview. The good news is that racing will hopefully see an epic battle in Saturday's Adios at The Meadows when Fear The Dragon and Huntsville go the post. The bad news is that trainer Linda Toscano has announced that the top-ranked Walner will not be entered in the Hambletonian after suffering a slight leg injury.
Hambletonian Oaks elims are set for Saturday at the Big M and right now Ariana G looms bold to continue her divisional domination. Driver Yannick Gingras gives his thoughts about the reigning divisional champ who hasn't missed a beat as a 3 year old. Trainer-driver Charlie Norris hopes his filly Treviso can pull the upset and he talks about his trotter who is five-for-five in '17.
Also, the sport's top older trotters head to Plainridge for Friday's $250K Spirit of Massachusetts Trot, and native New Englander Paul Kelley reveals how special a win would be for him and Obrigado. Driver Gingras drew post 1 with Hannelore Hanover, the lone mare in the field, and he gives his take on the race.
And it's one final send-off for Hall of Famer John Campbell, who makes his final drive in the Legends Day Trot on Sunday at Clinton Raceway in Ontario.
