Ali Blue matched the track record for freshman fillies on Saturday night at Saratoga on a New York Sires Stakes-laden 15-race program.
The Jimmy Takter-trained 2 year old powered away from her rivals in the stretch before stopping the timer in 1:54.4 to match the track record for her division.
Ali Blue (American Ideal--Mintjulep Bluechip) moved her record to four wins in five tries in Sire Stakes action with her Saturday romp. Yannick Gingras sat behind the talented filly as she matched the mark set by Queenofthestars (Stephane Bouchard) in 2007, which was matched by Handsoffmycookie (Tim Tetrick) in 2011.
The other Sire Stakes winners on the night were JK Molly (Art Major-Heather's Western), who prevailed for Tetrick in 1:57.2 and A La Notte Hanover (Art Major-All Night Long) with Andy Miller in the sulky, who stopped the timer in 1:56.1.
The New York Sire Stakes will return to town next Saturday night, when 3-year-old pacing colts will slug it out. (Saratoga)
