Lavec Dream trotted to a world-record 1:55.2 victory while springing a 48-1 upset in the $100,000 Ms. Versatility final for older mare trotters. George Brennan was in the sulky as she lowered the previous mark for the division on a half-mile track by one full second.

Mystical Sunshine and driver Ron Pierce were on the lead and cruised through fractions of :27.4, :57.1 and 1:26.1, but as the fast-rallying Lavec Dream came alongside around the final bend, went offstride. That allowed Lavec Dream to go on easily to the win. Godess Of Chaos and Mike Wilder, sent off as 80-1 longshots, finished second. Three Little Words was third across the wire but was moved back to fourth as she too lost her gait late in the mile. The stewards elevated Small Favors and Brad Kramer--at odds of 17-1--to third.

A 5-year-old daughter of Enjoy Lavec, Lavec Dream is owned by Peter Kleinhans, a New Jersey-based horseman who has also announced the races at several racetracks through the years, including Tioga Downs and The Red Mile. The win increased Enjoy Lavec\'s 2006 earnings to more than $105,000 and career total to more than $170,000.

The Ms. Versatility series consisted of two legs and a final. Ticket To Glide won the first leg at Tioga Downs while Mystical Sunshine took the second at Vernon Downs. The series was sponsored by Jeff Gural\'s Allerage Farm.
