The weather probably set a record in Harrisburg Tuesday (Nov. 4) as temperatures climbed into the upper 70s. For complete results of the Standardbred Horse Sales auction in Harrisburg, go to www.theblackbook.com.

As a result of the record-setting temperatures, yearling shoppers walked around in shirt sleeves, a very rare sight at a Harrisburg auction.

The bidding for top bloodstock was strong inside the Pennsylvania State Farm Show Arena. A Western Hanover-sired pacing colt out of the stakes winning Armbro Nest p,4, 1:50.4, brought a winning bid of $300,000 from trainer Bob McIntosh, who was representing himself and the CSX Stable. Armbro Nest has already produced this year's fast 2 year old Harry Horney.

A total of 643 yearlings went through the ring Monday and Tuesday, the first two sessions, generating sales of $24.5 million for an average price of $38,257.
