Rainbow Blue rolled to her seventh straight win and a stakes record of 1:52 in the $73,760 Blossom, the first of three stakes finals on Saturday night at the Meadowlands.

Driver Ron Pierce settled Rainbow Blue fifth in the first turn as Heather's Gambit led the field to the opening quarter. Despite a brisk wind blowing in the face of the horse's in the backstretch, Double Crème made a move to the front and Pierce followed with Rainbow Blue.

Rainbow Blue led the rest of the way without a serious threat and turned in a final quarter of :26.3 to defeat Double Creme. Heather's Gambit held on for third.

"She can fly. She's very special," said Pierce of the 3-year-old Artiscape filly trained by George Teague Jr. " I don't know what filly in the country can go with her."

Rainbow Blue is scheduled to go to the $100,000 Rose Red Pace at Hazel Park on May 14 and will likely return to the Meadowlands for New Jersey Sire Stakes, the Tarport Hap on July 23, and the Mistletoe Shalee on Aug. 7.
