The week-long speed show continued at Scarborough Downs on Sunday (June 18) as the track remained lightning fast while the horses and drivers took full advantage of the favorable conditions to put up eye-popping miles to the delight of the fans.

Ashlee's Cool Gal became the latest to test the teletimer on Sunday as the Maine-bred mare blazed around the oval to secure a brand new lifetime mark of 1:54.2 with driver Drew Campbell calling the shots for trainer Stephen Murchison. The win broke a four-race skein of runner-up placings for the Randy Tompkins owned Maine-bred and was one of three trips down victory lane for Scarborough's top rated pilot on Sunday.

The sterling clocking was the third fastest yet recorded this season at the Downs and fastest by a mare, trailing only Destination Moon N (1:53.4) and Only The Lonely (1:54.1) for top honors on the speed meter.

With summer weather heating up, talented horses plying their trade and fans flocking to the stands this year, the party never ends at Scarborough Downs.

Live racing is proudly featured at Scarborough Downs on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 4:30 p.m. (EDT). The Sunday matinee gets underway at 1:30. (Scarborough)
