Audit, a 4-year-old trotting mare, took top honors in the $12,250 final of the Ice Folly Series at The Meadows Monday night in 1:58.4.

The daughter of Master Lavec was solid in her three preliminary divisions, winning once and finishing second twice for owners Daniel Mitchell and Peter Hardy.

In the final, she started from post position three in a field of nine and got away fourth for driver Mike Wilder. "I really wanted the pocket trip, but it ended up not being the spot to be in," Wilder said.

Real Dough was sitting the pocket trip for Dave Palone, but as Wilder mentioned, it wasn't the place to be in this race, and she was taken out of it by the fading Sierra Twister around the final turn.

"I've been having trouble getting my mare in the right spot lately, but when Tony (Hall) came on the outside, I just followed him and he gave me the cover I wanted. She raced well tonight," Wilder said.

Audit closed her final quarter mile in :29.3 to narrowly defeat Incoming Victory by a neck. (by Adam Packard)
