Audrey Campbell dies at 90

Audrey Campbell, who campaigned 2005 Horse of the Year Rocknroll Hanover with partner Jeffrey Snyder, died on Sept. 23 in Toronto Western Hospital at the age of 90. Mrs. Campbell also shared ownership of such notables as Red River Hanover and Armbro Dallas under the banner of her Lothlorien Stables. Last week her filly Vulcanize won the Buckette at the Delaware County Fair.
Mrs. Campbell was the last surviving child of Canadian newspaper magnate Roy Thomson. According to the Globe and Mail newspaper, Mrs. Campbell and her three daughters gave $25 million to establish the Campbell Family Institute for Breast Cancer Research at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto.
