Aunt Mel recorded the ninth win of the year and 11th of her career in the $25,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes–Green Acres for 3-year-old trotting fillies, the featured ninth race on Thursday at Freehold Raceway.

The daughter of Yankee Glide was a half-length winner in 1:58.3, holding off Flower Bouquet (Muscles Yankee). Chocolatta De Vie (Chocolatier) was third by three and a quarter lengths.

Aunt Mel, driven by Steve Smith and trained by Erv Miler, has finished in-the-money in 13 of 19 starts this year and extended her current winning streak to four.

A $95,000 Harrisburg yearling sale purchase, she has finished in the top three in 20 of 32 career starts and banked $270,345 for owner Mary Jane Anderson of Long Grove, Ill. She is named for Anderson's sister-in-law, Melanie.

Earlier in the card, two $7,000 round-three divisions of the New Jersey Sire Stakes–Green Acres for 2-year-old pacing fillies were contested.

The winners were Flirty Filly (Western Ideal) over Ashlees Cards [Cam's Card Shark] by a length and a quarter in 2:01.4 and Get The Look (Cam's Card Shark) by a head over Light Of Day [Rocknroll Hanover] in 1:58.4. (SBOANJ)
