Tattersalls held its Summer Mixed Sale at the Meadowlands Paddock on Sunday, the day after the Hambletonian, and people showed up to buy racehorses. Clear Vision, a gelding who consistently competes in the upper condition ranks, topped the sale when bought by Burke Racing LLC for $150,000. The second highest price was $80,000, which is what it cost Jeff Bamond to buy the 3-year-old Art Major gelding JK Camelon. Also, Mark Ford bought the 2-year-old Village Jolt colt Prudence Jolt for $73,000 for client John Como.
The 96 horses sold generated a gross of $1,677,200 for an average price of $17,470. Last year's Tattersalls Summer Sale, held on the weekend of the Hambletonian eliminations, featured 129 horses which were sold for $1,967,200, with a resulting average of $15,249.
