Big M, Mohawk lead return in new Weekend Preview!
« Return to News
The Meadowlands and Woodbine Mohawk Park lead the way this weekend as more racetracks return to racing after a shutdown of three months due to the covid-19 pandemic. In the new and free HarnessRacing Weekend Preview, trainer Nancy Takter talks about a few of her horses racing at the Big M, including world champion mare trotter Manchego. While driver Yannick Gingras won’t be behind Manchego (honors to Dexter Dunn), he will be behind other Takter-trained starters, and he talks about Kissin In The Sand and JK American Beauty.
If you need some help trying to figure out wagering strategy, The Meadowlands’ Dave Brower and Mohawk’s Mark McKelvie give some advice in trying to find winners. The tracks had different rules for qualifying—or not qualifying—after the layoff, so their thoughts could be beneficial.
Last week we had the pre-race story about the famed Elitlopp in Sweden, and this week we have the post-race wrap-up. We also have the story of the controversy regarding the winner Propulsion, where in Sweden the situation is scandalous.
Qualifiers across the country have been loaded with stars, including Shartin N and Papi Rob Hanover, who were victorious at Magical Acres. Take a guess at how many horses have qualified in the U.S. since the green light was given by state governors? You will probably be surprised to learn the number.
We have a full list of all the racetracks that are returning to action over the next few days.
