Swedish Breeders Crown eliminations held at the Bergsåker track turned out to be a great success for Viking Kronos, a son of American Winner and Conch, winners of the Hambletonian and Hambletonian Oaks in the U.S. back in 1993 and 1985, respectively.

Peter Haughton Memorial finalist Order By Fax (Viking Kronos-Nellie’s Girl) made his first start after the U.S. trip in a Breeders Crown event for his age group. He finished last in the Haughton final, but took second in the Breeders Crown elim.

Said his trainer-driver, Per Lennartsson, after the race, “I got beat by a better horse today.”

The Lutfi Kolgjini-trained Face The Evil was the winner. He is also a son of Viking Kronos and is out of the mare Com Gretchen (by Pythagoras, a son of Florestan). He was catch-driven by Erik Adielsson and was timed in a mile rate of 2:05.4 over 2,140 meters. He’s now two for two this year.

The Breeders Crown filly elimination was captured by Face For Ever, also sired by Viking Kronos out of Jan’s Hot To Trot, by Baltic Speed. She was driven by Olle Goop and was timed in a mile rate of 2:07.3 over 2,140 meters.
